Registration open for X-Men hockey power skating camp

ANTIGONISH, NS – X-Men hockey head coach Brad Peddle is pleased to announce that registration is now open for their power skating camp this fall/winter. The camp is scheduled for an eight-week period from October 26 to December 14th.

The X-Men hockey power skating camp will focus primarily on edge control, striding, backwards and lateral skating, explosiveness and that all-important 'first step'. It is a great opportunity to learn and refine skills in a different atmosphere than that of a club/rep or recreation hockey team.

The X-Men coaching staff and current X-Men student-athletes will be running the sessions during one-hour time slots on Monday evenings at the Charles V. Keating Centre. Introductory (novice/atom) will take place from 5:00-6:00 pm (main arena), followed by Intermediate (atom/pee wee) from 5:30-6:30 pm on the auxiliary arena. The advanced group (pee wee/bantam/midget) will run 6:00-7:00 pm on the main arena.

The cost for the eight-week session is $175 which is due on October 26th. There is room for 36 participants per session, so interested parties are encouraged to act quickly. Pre-registration is required and can be done online by visiting http://tinyurl.com/xmenpowerskating. Any questions can be directed to xmenhockey@stfx.ca.
