X-Men hockey defenseman Bronson Maschmeyer is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the off-season. Bronson recently completed his first year with the X-Men and is a Business student from Bruderheim, AB

What brought you to StFX?
The reputation of the school first off. After looking into which school I would like to attend it was clear that StFX was a highly-touted school. As I am a hockey player I wanted to receive the highest combination of academics and athletics and I believe StFX provides that. Also a big influence in my decision to come to StFX was the opportunity to be involved in the Leadership Academy, run by Leo MacPherson, which is the first sports leadership academy that has been implemented in Canada.
What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
As of right now, it would have to be my first goal in the Keating Center. We were on a power play and Jason Bast put the puck on a tee for me and I one-timed it top shelf, glove side. It was my first goal in the regular season for the X-Men and was pretty neat to be in front of the X-Men faithful.

I would definitely be Superman

When people leave drawer and cupboard doors open or getting interrupted

To spend a month travelling around Europe, starting in Germany and working my way around

I am one of five children. My Dad Arlan, my Mom Christine, my sisters, Brittaney (24) and Emerance (18) and my brothers, Brock (20) and Kache (16).
