X-Men hockey in search of assistant coach

ANTIGONISH, NS – StFX men’s hockey head coach Brad Peddle is in search of a new full-time assistant coach to add to his coaching staff and his 2011 AUS finalist X-Men hockey program after Norm Batherson is moving on in pursuit of alternate career options.

“Norm Batherson has decided to move on to pursue other professional employment interests,” comments Coach Peddle. “We would like to thank him for his time and commitment to the X-Men hockey program over the past three years, and I wish him and his family the absolute best in their move.”

With Coach Batherson moving to the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia with his family, he leaves behind a void in the X-Men coaching staff. According to Coach Peddle, “the full-time assistant coaching position plays an extremely important role within our program.”

“We are looking for a hard working, high character individual who is very motivated and committed to helping continue the growth of the X-Men Hockey program. This assistant coach will be very involved in the daily operations of our program, and will have a significant focus on technical development, both within our X-Men summer hockey camps and with Antigonish Minor Hockey.”

The technical development component reflects a newly created partnership with the Antigonish Minor Hockey Association and the X-Men hockey program. For further information on the assistant coach position, please contact X-Men hockey head coach Brad Peddle at bpeddle@stfx.ca or 902-867-2273.
