X-Men battle Tigers in AUS basketball

The StFX X-Men dropped an 86-78 decision to the visiting Dalhousie Tigers in AUS basketball play Friday night at Oland Centre in Antigonish.

Jeremy Dunn and Terry Thomas led the blue and white with 20 points each in the loss. Thomas, with a double-double, added 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.

For the X-Men, Will Donkoh also scored in double digits with 14, while adding seven rebounds, four steals, two assists and one blocked shots.

Simon Marr and Devon Stedman scored 22 and 18 points, respectively, for the Tigers. Jarred Reid and William Yengue, with 12 each, also hit double figures for the visitors.

The Tigers had a 42-27 advantage in rebounding.

The X-Men led 38-37 at halftime, but the Tigers outscored the blue and white by nine points in the second half, including 26-18 in the fourth quarter.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 1-3 on the regular season, while the X-Men fall to 3-2.

Saturday night, the X-Men will host the Saint Mary’s Huskies. Game time is 8 p.m. at Oland Centre.
