Davonte Provo commits to X-Men basketball

Antigonish, NS— StFX men’s basketball head coach Steve Konchalski is pleased to announce that Davonte Provo has committed to the X-Men program for the 2013-14 season. The 6’0” point guard from Auburn Drive High School is one of the top recruits out of the Maritime provinces.

“We are really excited that Davonte has decided to pursue his education and bring his basketball talents to StFX,” comments Konchalski. “With veteran point guard Tyrell Vernon graduating this year, the point guard position is one of the focal points of our recruiting efforts and we feel that Davonte is a pass-first point guard who has a great future in our program.”

Provo was a 2011 provincial champion with Auburn, and the team followed up with a bronze medal showing last year. He was also a member of the Nova Scotia U17 provincial team that won a silver medal at the 2011 national championship.

The X-Men have also received a commitment from 6’2” combo guard Julius Antoine from Thornlea Secondary School in Toronto.
