X-Women basketball forward Rebecca Sheehan was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Mar. 9, 2014. Rebecca, a fifth year Human Kinetics student from Fredericton, NB was named an AUS tournament all-star this past weekend at the conference championship in Charlottetown. In Saturday’s exciting 86-82 overtime win against UPEI in the semifinals, Rebecca was named player of the game as she scored a game-time 22 points and had a double-double night with 10 rebounds. She also had 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block as she played the entire 45 minutes for the X-Women. In Sunday’s 76-63 loss to SMU in the final, Rebecca scored 11 points and had 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 39 minutes played. Earlier in the week she was honored as the AUS defensive player of the year.
