With extensive experience playing AUS and U SPORTS level soccer from 2013-2017 with the Acadia Axewomen, Coach Emily joins the X-Women coaching staff in 2023. A defender from Coldbrook, N.S., Nickerson is a four-time U SPORTS first/second team All-Canadian, five-time AUS first team all-star, and was the 2013 AUS Rookie of the Year.

Nickerson graduated from Acadia University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and was a five-time Academic All-Canadian. After spending five years working with various Provincial Sport Organizations in Halifax, Nickerson now works for Golf Canada as the Coordinator for First Tee - Atlantic and resides in Antigonish County with fiancé, Josh Crouse.
