Weekend Shutout
The X-Women soccer team were held off the scoresheet this weekend in two AUS league games as they lost 2-0 to Cape Breton and drew a 0-0 tie with UNB. On Friday afternoon the X-Women travelled to Sydney for a game against the defending CIS champions and though the first half was scoreless, the Capers scored two goals in the second half to earn the 2-0 win. Erica Lannon scored at the 63 minute mark and Jen Sheppard scored an insurance marker at the end of the game to seal the victory. The Player of the Game for the X-Women was Monika Schubertova, while keeper Jessica McDermid earned Player of the Game honors for Cape Breton with the shutout win.

StFX was unable to find the back of the net again Saturday afternoon at home as they played to a 0-0 tie with the visiting UNB Varsity Reds. Anna Thompson was in nets for the shutout game for X while Player of the Game Jackie Fitt Ryan took care of the netminding duties for the Varsity Reds. Ellissa Riel earned Player of the Game honors for the X-Women who now hold a 3-3-1 record in league play and sit in fifth place with 10 points in a close AUS race.

StFX will host the Saint Mary's Huskies (2-2-4, 4th place) on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm on their home turf for Homecoming weekend, and will also host the Universite de Moncton (1-3-2, 9th place) Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
