Soccer X-Women clinch Playoff berth

With a 2-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers Sunday afternoon in Charlottetown, the X-Women have clinched a berth in the AUS championship tournament taking place Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 at Saint Mary's University.

Laura Thompson scored for StFX at the 14 minute mark and Eugenia Renderos added the insurance marker with 10 minutes left in the game. Heidi Felderhof earned the shutout win in nets for the X-Women who currently sit in fourth place overall in the AUS standings with 20 points.

All the playoff spots berths have been decided as Cape Breton, Dalhousie, Memorial, Saint Mary's and UPEI have also clinched spots. The only thing left to be decided is the seeding as the women have one weekend of AUS competition remaining. StFX will travel to Acadia on Saturday and will host Dalhousie Sunday at 1:00 pm.
