X-Women Soccer Win, Tie

The X-Women soccer team had a successful weekend with a close 1-0 four-point win over the visiting Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues on Sunday afternoon and a scoreless 0-0 draw with the Saint Mary's Huskies on Friday. StFX Female Athlete of the Week Jessica Gray scored the lone goal for the X-Women in their win over Moncton, and also received Player of the Game honors. The goal came early in the second half at the 52 minute mark and was Gray's team leading third goal of the season. Anna Thompson earned the shutout win in nets.

The X-Women currently hold a 4-3-2 record in AUS competition with 15 points and sit in fourth place overall. They will host the league leading Cape Breton Capers (7-0-2) next Friday, Oct. 17 at 2:00 pm, then travel to UPEI on Sunday, Oct. 19 for a game against the fifth place Panthers (4-3-3). All AUS teams are off for the Thanksgiving weekend.
