X-Men suffer first loss of regular season

The StFX X-Men suffered their first loss of the AUS regular season Sunday afternoon in Halifax.
              
The Saint Mary’s Huskies scored a 2-0 home win on the strength of second-half goals by Derek Gaudet (55th minute) and Vasili Garonis (70th).
              
Adam Miller stopped five shots to record the shutout for the defending CIS bronze medalists.
              
Fourth-year X-Men keeper Andrew MacDonald made six saves, while Sam Hutchison recorded two stops in relief.
              
The X-Men (1-1-1) will return to the pitch Friday, Sept. 21 when they visit Sackville, N.B. to face the Mount Allison Mounties, followed up by a Saturday game against the UPEI Panthers.
