Moncton – The StFX X-Women (4-0-0) scored twice to blank the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-3-0) on Saturday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in an Atlantic University Sport hockey action.

Goals by Santana Gravelle, at the beginning of the second period and the second by Tyra Meropoulis, on the power play late in the third period, lifted the visitors for the win.

Goaltender Jamie Johnson handled 22 shots to register the shutout and was named Subway player of the game. Audrey Berthiaume made 23 saves in a losing cause for the Aigles Bleues.

The X-Women scored once on six power play opportunities and Moncton were 0-4. The game saw many turnovers in the middle of the ice, but both goaltenders were busy and made key saves. The late third period goal dashed all hopes for Moncton to even the score.

Nest up in AUS action. Moncton will host the UPEI Panthers, on Thursday at 7p.m. The Panthers will then be in Antigonish on Friday evening to face-off against the X-Women.
