Atlantic University Sports is pleased to announce the finalists for the conference’s male and female Athletes of the Year awards.

The StFX Athletic Department honored the athletic accomplishments of their varsity athletes this week via an online awards celebration. X-Women hockey forward Tyra Meropoulis was named the StFX Female Student-Athlete of the Year, while X-Men soccer striker Dan Hayfield received StFX Male Student-Athlete of the Year honors. The StFX Female Community X-Cellence award was co-awarded to Amy Graham (X-Women hockey) and Sam Lake (X-Women rugby), while Paul MacLellan from X-Men cross country was the winner of the StFX Male Community X-Cellence award.

StFX forward Tyra Meropoulis was honoured with the Brodrick Trophy as U SPORTS women’s hockey Player of the Year Wednesday night, as the national award winners were celebrated at the annual All-Canadian gala. She was also a U SPORTS first team All-Canadian, as was defense Lindsey Donovan. Goalie Jamie Johnson was named to the U SPORTS all-rookie team.

StFX X-Women hockey head coach Ben Berthiaume is pleased to report the signing of defenceman Olivia Sutton for the 2020-21 season.

Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce the 2019-20 AUS women's hockey all-stars and major award winners as selected by the conference's eight head coaches. Second-year StFX forward Tyra Meropoulis (Edson, Alta.) was named the AUS most valuable player, while fifth year StFX forward Lydia Schurman was honoured as the AUS top defensive player.

Former X-Women hockey goalie Sojung Shin is happy to be back at StFX this season. This time she has set aside her goalie pads and has taken on a new role – one as a coach.
The Mount Allison Mounties almost played spoiler and snapped the StFX X-Women’s winning streak, but the AUS first place X-Women prevailed with a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon at the Keating Centre in the final game of the regular season.

Special teams played an important role in the StFX X-Women’s 4-3 win over the Dalhousie Tigers Wednesday night at the Halifax Forum. The win also clinched a top two finish in the AUS standings for the X-Women, securing them a first round playoff bye and a berth directly into the semifinals. StFX is riding an 11-game win streak.

The U SPORTS No. 10 ranked StFX X-Women picked up their second win of the weekend, beating the UNB Reds fell 4-2 in a hard-fought battle on Saturday evening.

The St. Thomas University Tommies suffered a 3-0 loss in their #ThinkPink game against the StFX X-Women at the Grant Harvey Centre Friday night.

StFX X-Women hockey head coach Ben Berthiaume is happy to report the signing of forward McKiya Mazur for the 2020-21 season.
The StFX X-Women defeated the U SPORTS No. 2 ranked Saint Mary’s Huskies 3-1 Saturday night to move into a share of first place in the AUS standings.

The StFX X-Women moved into a tie for second place in the AUS standings with a 2-0 shutout victory over the U SPORTS No. 3 ranked UPEI Panthers, Friday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre in front of over 300 fans.
