X-Women Hockey announce goaltending recruit

ANTIGONISH, NS – StFX X-Women hockey coach Ben Berthiaume is pleased to announce the commitment of goaltender Jamie Johnson to the team for the 2019-20 season.

A native of Victoria, B.C. and is currently playing for the London Jr. Devilettes of the Provincial Women's Hockey League, Johnson played two seasons with the Delta Hockey Academy prior to joining the PWHL.

"Jamie has proven herself as a strong goaltender that looks to only be getting better as the year has gone on," comments Coach Berthiaume. "She is a very focused player and shows great work ethic. We are happy to be bringing a goalie of her caliber to our program and think that she will be a strong player for years to come for the X-Women."

Johnson is 5'8" and has a current record of 14-4-2, including winning 12 of her past 14 starts. Her play has helped take London to fourth place in the 20 team league.

She has been accepted into the Human Kinetics program at StFX University and joins forward Jayden Thompson (Aurora, Ont.) as the next committed recruit to the X-Women program for 2019-20.
