Panthers defeat X-Women 2-0

Charlottetown, PE – The UPEI Panthers defeated the StFX X-Women 2-0 Saturday afternoon in AUS women's hockey action at MacLauchlan Arena.

All of the scoring took place in the second period.  Rachel Colle scored the game winner on the power play at 17:11 with assists going to Lindsay Johnston and Emma Weatherbie.  Defencemen Emma Martin scored the Panthers second goal at 3:12 with Andie Boeckmen drawing the helper.

Megan Sullivan made 31 saves for the win, while Pascal Daigle turned aside 14 shots in the loss.

The game marked the final AUS regular season game for the X-Women as they wrap up the seaosn in fifth place with a 9-12-3 record. They will now prepare for a best 2-of-3 AUS quarter-final playoff series against the fourth place Mount Allison Mounties. Game dates and times will be announced on Sunday evening. 

The seventh place Panthers reamin out of playoff contention. They return to action Sunday afternoon for their final game of the season when they host Saint Mary's at 2:00 pm.
