X-Women come from behind to beat Ravens

Montreal, QC – The X-Women hockey team wrapped up play the Concordia Theresa Humes Memorial tournament with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Carleton Ravens on Monday afternoon.

Sarah Bujold scored with just under three minutes to play in the third period to tie the game and Taylor Dale notched the game winner a minute later at the 18:17 mark to give the X-Women their second win of the weekend.

The CIS ranked No. 9 team had previously defeated Laurentian 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday, and fell 4-1 to Ottawa on Saturday for a 2-1 overall record.

In Monday's game against Concordia, neither team could find the back of the net throughout two periods of play. Carleton held a 10-7 shot advantage in the first period and the X-Women outshoot the Ravens 16-6 in the second.

Becky Davidson got the Ravens on the board with a third period goal at 5:13 on a Tanya Guindon assist.

The X-Women continued to pressure and Bujold scored her second goal of the weekend at 17:08 from Emma Winters and Daley Oddy.

Dale's game winning goal was assisted by Oddy and Kara Power.

Pascale Daigle earned the win in the StFX net with 20 saves as the X-Women outshot the Ravens 36-21.

Katelyn Steele took the loss for the Ravens.

The X-Women now look to turn their attention to the second half of the AUS season. They will next hit the ice on Friday, January 8th when they host the UPEI Panthers. Puck drop is 7:00 pm at the StFX Keating Centre.
