Capers too much for hoop X-Women

Sydney, NS – The Capers ended their first semester on a winning note with an 80-46 victory over StFX Wednesday night at the Sullivan Field House. CBU (6-1) led from start to finish in a lopsided win for the home team over the visiting X-Women (0-6).

The Capers were once again led by the AUS leading scorer Alison Keough (Marion Bridge, NS) who finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five steals. CBU enjoyed strong guard play from Valentina Primossi (Trieste, IT) with 15 points and three assists. Hannah Brown (North Sydney, NS) had a strong game off the bench for the CAPERS with 11 points and four rebounds.

The Capers shot almost 50% from the field and held the X-Women to just 31.4% from the floor. CBU generated 19 steals on defence during a complete effort. The home team lead 42-20 at halftime.

The X-Women got 15 points and four assists from Chelsea Provo (East Preston, NS) and were led off the bench by Jessica Miller (Mount Denson, NS) with six points and two steals.

The X-Women will play host to Saint Mary's on November 26th in a 6:00 pm tip-off at the StFX Oland Centre. The Capers will break for the semester and open the second half by hosting UNB on January 6th.
