Saskatoon, SK – Six STFX track runners competed at the U SPORTS national championship at the Saskatoon Fieldhouse over the weekend, in the event hosted by the University of Saskatchewan.
Third year runner Allie Sandluck from Thorburn, NS ran in the women's 3000m race on Friday evening and placed 12th overall with a time of 10:02.99.
Fourth year X-Men runner Jacob Benoit from Windsor, NS ran in the same race on the men's side and posted a time of 8:24.39, good enough for 8th place.
Later the same evening the X-Women 4x800m relay team came 10th overall in the field of 12 schools, clocking in at 9:13.63, Team members consisted of first year runners Caroline Ash (Newmarket, ON) and Caden Lee (Richmond Hill, ON), along with second years Mairin Canning (Antigonish, NS) and Brynn Hebert (Wetaskiwin, AB).
Caroline Ash was the lone STFX competitor on Saturday at the national event as she ran in the 1500m. She placed 11th overall with a time of 4:53.45.
