Fifth year X-Women sprinter/jumper Bridget Brennan was the lone StFX competitor at the CIS national track & field championship held this weekend in Toronto.

The native of Beechwood, NB competed in the pentathlon, long jump and 300m dash over two days. The opening day of the championship on Friday, Brennan competed in all five pentathlon events, finishing sixth overall amidst a field of 10. Her point tally of 3555 was a personal best.

In the individual pentathlon events, Brennan placed 8th in the 60m hurdles (9.08), 9th in the high jump (1.52m), 9th in the shot put (8.98m), 5th in the long jump (5.48m), and ran a gutsy final 800m event, taking top spot with a time of 2:17.26.

Saturday, Brennan competed in the long jump and placed 11th overall with a jump of 5.39m. In the 300m dash, she came 13th in the preliminaries with a 41.27 clocking, but did not advance to the final race.
