StFX athletes compete at CIS championship

Four individual athletes and the women's 4x400m relay team competed at the CIS national championship March 12-14 in Windsor.

Freshman X-Women sprinter/jumper Hayley Wilson from Skye Glen, NS competed in both the 60m dash and the triple jump. She placed 12th in the preliminaries in the 60m dash with a time of 7.91, failing to advance to the finals. In the triple jump Hayley came 10th overall with an 11.06m showing. 

X-Men sprinter Mackenzie Munroe, in his third year of eligibility from Yarmouth, NS, failed to advance to the 600m final after a 1:21.64 finish in 10th place in the preliminaries.

Fourth year X-Women sprinter Eilish MacQuarrie from Antigonish, NS ran a 40.70 in the preliminaries of the 300m dash to qualify for the final, where she followed up with a 40.62, good for seventh place finish overall.

Scott Donald, a third year runner from Ottawa, ON was the lone X-Men entered into a distance running event. His time of 4:02.69 placed him 12th overall in the 1500m.

The X-Women 4x400m relay team competed amongst a field of 12 teams and came up with an 11th place result, finishing with a time of 3:56.56. The team is comprised of Bridget Brennan (Beechwood, NB), Allie Flower (Lunenberg, NS), Beth Lawrence (Ardois, NS) and Eilish MacQuarrie.
