The StFX track and field team is sending a small contingent of qualifiers to the CIS national championship taking place this week, March 6th to 8th at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
The X-Men recently won their first ever AUS team title while the X-Women were second overall.
Head Coach Bernie Chisholm comments, ""Our program is on the upswing and we are very pleased with our accomplishments so far. We do have athletes advancing on to the CIS level and we feel that over the next number of years our program will continue to grow. Our expectation at the CIS championship is not necessarily to medal in all events, but to run personal best times and set personal records."
Competing at the national event this weekend will be the AUS champion X-Women 4x200m relay team consisting of Abby Finnan, Bridget Brennan, Jillian Murphy and Eilish MacQuarrie. The team is seeded 13th heading into the event with a qualifying time of 1:45.96.
