X-Men Soccer welcomes goalkeeper Oliver Vossen to the 2020 Roster

Antigonish, NS – StFX X-Men soccer head coach Graham Kennedy is pleased to announce the commitment of goalkeeper Oliver Vossen from Antigonish, N.S. for the upcoming 2020 season.

"I am always pleased when we can keep a good local player," stated Kennedy. "Our team now has twelve Nova Scotians and six of them are from Antigonish or Pictou counties."

Vossen is a 6'0" locally developed goalkeeper from Dr. J. H. Gillis High School who played for various clubs during his development including Antigonish Celtics, Highland FC, Halifax Dunbrack, and Suburban FC.

"Oliver is an athletic, hard-working, devoted player who will blossom in the competitive environment at StFX," notes assistant X-Men coach Ollie Hewish. "We believe he has good potential and can develop into a solid AUS level goalkeeper, especially given the senior keepers he will get to train with."

X-Men goalkeeper coach, Patrick Rutayisire, who has worked with Vossen for several years, likes what he sees. "Oliver works very hard, has great discipline and wants to learn. He has good fundamentals and a great attitude."

Vossen has been accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics program at StFX and hopes to continue his career and education in a health-related discipline.
