University: Dalhousie University
Sport: Women's Soccer
Position: Midfielder

Year of eligibility: Fifth

Rachelle Lalande of the Dalhousie Tigers women's soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2019.

A fifth-year midfielder from Halifax, N.S., Lalande scored two goals to lead the Tigers to two victories over the weekend.

She opened the scoring Friday night, helping lead the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the UNB Reds on home turf.

On Sunday afternoon, Lalande scored the lone goal for the Tigers in their 1-0 win over the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

She currently leads the Tigers in scoring with four goals and is tied for fifth in the AUS.

Dan Hayfield of the StFX X-Men soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2019.

A fifth-year arts student from Exeter, England, Hayfield had five points in two weekend wins for the X-Men.

In Friday's 3-0 win over SMU, he had a goal and an assist, then followed up with two goals and an assist in Sunday's 3-0 win over Moncton.

Hayfield currently leads the AUS in both points (12) and goals (eight) this season and is second in the nation in goals scored.

He also now sits second in the StFX school record book in career points scored with 35.
