2019 AUS fall sports schedules released

Atlantic University Sport released the 2019 fall sports schedules today, including women’s rugby, men’s football, men’s and women’s soccer as well as men’s and women’s cross country. Hosts for the 2019 fall championships were also confirmed.

StFX X-Men soccer captain and Schwartz School of Business student Liam Elbourne has been selected as a prestigious Rhodes Scholar for 2019.

Read and Hayfield honoured as U SPORTS second team All-Canadians, Al Arabi named to U SPORTS all-rookie team

X-Men defender Josh Read and striker Dan Hayfield were both honoured as U SPORTS men's soccer second team All-Canadians at the awards gala Wednesday evening in conjunction with the U SPORTS national championship. In addition X-Men midfielder Ayoub Al-Arabi was named to the U SPORTS all-rookie team.

X-Men captain Liam Elbourne is the 2018 recipient of the AUS student-athlete community service award, while his teammates defender Josh Read and midfielders Dan Hayfield, Blake Fenton and William Warren were honoured as AUS all-stars.

2018 Subway AUS Soccer Championships schedule announced

The StFX X-Women will be playing SMU in the AUS quarter-finals on Thursday at 2:00 pm. The X-Men received a bye into the semifinals and they will await a quarterfinal winning opponent in a 7:00 pm game Friday night at 7:00 pm.

X-Men sweep Sea-Hawks in weekend action

The StFX X-Men downed the Memorial Sea-Hawks by a 4-1 score on Saturday afternoon at King George V to sweep their weekend series. The win pushed the X-Men (8-3-1) into second place overall in the AUS conference, which earns them a first round bye in the Subway AUS Championship next weekend in Sydney, NS.

The StFX X-Men defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 1-0 Saturday night at King George V Field.

Capers defeat X-Men 3-0

The Cape Breton Capers (8-0-2) remain undefeated on the season after they handed their rival StFX X-Men (6-3-1) a 3-0 loss on a chilly Friday evening at CBRCH field.

The StFX X-Men handed the UPEI Panthers their sixth loss in a row, as they used a first half penalty shot to propel them to a 3-0 win.

On a cool Saturday afternoon the Dalhousie Tigers impressed with a 4-0 shutout victory over the StFX X-Men on seniors’ day at Oland Stadium in the X-Men’s final home game of the season.

In a battle of U SPORTS top ten teams, the No.1 ranked Cape Breton Capers outlasted the No. 9 StFX X-Men by a score of 2-1 in a scintillating match Friday evening at Oland Stadium. The Capers improve to 2-0-1 on the season, while the X-Men suffer their first loss and fall to 2-1-0.
