X-Men drop 4-1 decision to Aigles Bleus

Moncton, NB - Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (4-2-0) won their fourth game of the season against the StFX X-Men (2-3-0) with a final score of 4-1 at the J-Louis Lévesque Arena.

Bleu et Or goalie Étienne Montpetit blocked 34 of the 35 shots sent in his direction. X-Men goalie Lucas Pfeil stopped 31 of 35 in the losing effort for the X-Men.

The Aigles Bleus opened the scoring at 6:48 of the second period thanks to a goal from forward Edouard St-Laurent, his first of the season.

The Bleu et Or increased their lead to 2-0 as forward Nathael Roy tallied at 17:36 of the second period.

The X-Men responded with just three seconds left before the end of the second period with a goal from Josh Nelson.

During the third period, the Aigles scored their third goal off the stick of St-Laurent who scored his second of the game, followed by Vincent Deslauriers who scored with just under two minutes left in the game.

St-Laurent received Subway Player of the Game honours.

For their next matches, the same two squads will be back in action again, this time to face-off in Antigonish Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
