Hannah Brown from the Cape Breton Capers women's basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 27, 2019.

A fifth-year forward from North Sydney, N.S., Brown led the Capers to a pair of weekend wins over the Dalhousie Tigers.

Saturday, Cape Breton downed Dalhousie 87-78. Brown was just shy of a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds to go along with four blocks, two assists and a steal.

The Capers completed the weekend sweep Sunday with a 75-64 win over the Tigers. Brown had a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 18 rebounds to along with two assists and a steal. She was named Subway Player of the Game for her performance.

Brown is averaging a U SPORTS-leading 26.8 points per game. She currently sits second in the Atlantic conference and fifth in the nation in rebounding with an average of 12.3 per game.

Blade Mann-Dixon from the St. Francis Xavier X-Men hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 27, 2019.

A second-year arts student in his first year of eligibility from Antigonish, N.S., Mann-Dixon backstopped the X-men to three big wins this past week.

He made 22 saves in StFX's 5-1 win over UPEI on Tuesday. The X-Men then downed the Panthers 5-1 once again on Friday. Mann-Dixon made 29 saves in the win and was named the game's third star.

He capped off the weekend with 38 saves on Saturday, earning Subway Player of the Game honours in a 3-2 win over U SPORTS No. 1-ranked UNB, improving his record to 7-2-0 on the season.

His current save percentage of .917 is the third best in the conference.
