Transfer Jeremiah Usiosefe commits to X-Men Basketball for 2020-21 season

Antigonish, NS - StFX X-Men basketball head coach Steve Konchalski is pleased to announce the commitment of 6'5", 215 pound guard/forward Jeremiah Usiosefe, who played the last three years at Western Illinois University, a NCAA Division 1 program in the Summit League.

Coach Konchalski notes, "Jeremiah will give us both size and experience as we take aim at the AUS conference championship, as well as the USPORTS national championship in 2020-21. He is a versatile player who can play both inside and out while being a leader both on and off the court."

Originally from Hamilton, Ont., Jeremiah played his prep school basketball along with current X-Men standout guard Justin Andrew at The Hill Academy in Brantford, Ont., before moving on to Division 1 Western Illinois University, where he played three years. His most productive year was as a sophomore when he started in all 15 games prior to sustaining an injury, averaging 6.2 PPG on 45% from the floor, 38% from beyond the arc and 88% from the free throw line.

In 2016-17 Jeremiah was named to the Summit League academic honour roll, and he has also been a team captain while at WIU. He will be finishing his Health Services Management Degree before studying in the Bachelor of Business Administration program at StFX this fall.
