Hockey fans young and old got to check out Lord Stanley's Cup in Antigonish this afternoon. X-Men hockey alumnus Allan MacIsaac, the Vice President of Hockey Operations of the Chicago Blackhawks, and a native of Antigonish, NS brought the Cup to the StFX Bloomfield Centre for public viewing.

MacIsaac has been employed by the Chicago Blackhawks organization since 2000. Currently serving as the Vice President of Hockey Operations, he held previous roles as the Vice President/Assistant to the President, Senior Director of Hockey Administration and Director of Player Evaluation. This year’s Stanley Cup victory marked the third one in the past six years for the Blackhawks organization. It also marked the third time that MacIsaac has brought the Cup to StFX and the Antigonish community.

A 1991 graduate of StFX University, MacIsaac enjoyed a very successful four year career as a member of the X-Men. Tallying 112 career points (54 goals, 58 assists), he was a two-time AUS all-star in the forward position, a three-time most valuable player for the X-Men, and on two occasions was the team's leading scorer. He was awarded the StFX Male Athlete of the Year award his senior year.

MacIsaac was a 12th round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 1987, and continued his hockey career with the Hampton Road Admirals in the East Coast Hockey League and also saw time with the Baltimore Skipjacks and Cape Breton Oilers of the American Hockey League.

Across his professional career he has won seven titles, including three as a player:  the 1987 CHL Memorial Cup with the Guelph Platers, the 1992 ECHL championship with the Norfolk Admirals and the 1993 Calder Cup with the Cape Breton Oilers. His fourth title came in 1998 as the general manager with the Admirals for another ECHL championship. The recent 2015 NHL Stanley Cup victory marks MacIsaac's third with the Chicago Blackhawks, having previously been a part of the 2013 and 2010 Stanley Cup championship teams.
