Three StFX teams in CIS top ten rankings

CIS TOP TEN TUESDAY (#11)
National leaders stay put

OTTAWA (CIS) – There are no changes at the top this week in the CIS cross country, basketball, hockey and volleyball national rankings.

The Guelph Gryphons (women’s and men’s cross country), McMaster Marauders (women’s basketball & men’s volleyball), Ottawa Gee-Gees (men’s basketball), Montreal Carabins (women’s hockey), UNB Varsity Reds (men’s hockey) and Alberta Pandas (women’s volleyball) all maintain their pole position.

In cross country, the top-ranked Gryphons will have home field advantage on Saturday in Guelph as they look to extend their remarkable streaks of 10 consecutive CIS women’s team titles and nine straight men’s banners. While the Guelph women easily defended their OUA conference crown on Oct. 31 in Waterloo, the Gryphons edged Windsor by a single point in the men’s standings.

NOTE: The CIS soccer championships also take place this week – from Thursday to Sunday - at UBC (women) and York (men). The Laval women and York men, who topped the final weekly rankings of the season last Tuesday, earned the top seed for the eight-team tournaments.
