X-Women & X-Men hockey ranked No. 6 in CIS

CIS TOP TEN TUESDAY (#12)
Saskatchewan, Guelph, McGill move up to No. 1 positions

OTTAWA (CIS) – Three teams moved to the top of CIS national rankings this week, including the Saskatchewan Huskies in women’s basketball, the Guelph Gryphons in women’s hockey and the McGill Redmen in men’s hockey.

For their part, the Ottawa Gee-Gees (men’s basketball), Alberta Pandas (women’s volleyball) and McMaster Marauders (men’s volleyball) all maintain their pole position.

Meanwhile, the first swimming rankings of the season are dominated by the UBC Thunderbirds (women) and Toronto Varsity Blues (men). 

NOTES: Guelph (replacing Montreal) reaches No. 1 in women’s hockey for the first time in program history... Saskatchewan (replacing McMaster) is No. 1 in women’s hoops for the first time since 2010-11, when the Huskies topped the last eight coaches’ polls of the campaign... McGill (replacing UNB) was last ranked No. 1 in men’s hockey in the winter of 2012 (Jan. 24 and 31 polls).
