Bowden, Fedchun & Burnham named football athletes of the week

McDonald's X-Men Football Offensive Athlete of the Week
X-Men running back Chase Bowden was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25, 2019. Chase, a 1st year Human Kinetics student from St. Catharine's, ON led the X-Men ground attack in their 16-6 win over MtA on Saturday. He rushed for 113 total yards on 25 carries, averaging 4.5 yards/rush. Chase also scored the X-Men's only touchdown of the game on a three-yard run in the first quarter.

X-Men defensive lineman Alex Fedchun was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25, 2019. Alex, a 2nd year Human Kinetics student from Calgary, Alta. played a strong game from the defensive line for the X-Men in their 16-6 win over MtA on Saturday. He had five solo and eight assisted tackles for nine total in the game. Alex also contributed a sack and a tackle for a loss. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week
X-Men kicker/punter Keiran Burnham was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25, 2019.  Keiran, a 5th year Arts student (4th year eligibility) from Cambridge, Ont. kicked three field goals in the X-Men's 16-6 win over MtA on Saturday, splitting the uprights from 41, 19 and 39 yards out. Keiran also had 6 punts for 264 total yards, averaging 44 yards/punt, including a long punt of 59 yards and two inside the 20. He had a pair of kick-offs in the game for 83 yards, averaging 41.5 yards/kick.
