Socholotiuk, Bell & Julien-Grant named football athletes of the week

McDonald's X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men running back Jordan Socholotiuk was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2018. Jordan, a 4th year Arts student (5th year eligibility) from Waterford, Ont. led all rushers in Saturday's close loss to SMU. He racked up 174 yards on 31 carries, averaging 5.6 yards/rush. Jordan also had one reception for 11 yards in the game. He is currently leading the AUS conference in rushing average (122.2 y/g) and total rushing yards (611) and he is third overall in all-purpose yards, averaging 133.4 yards/game. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Dylan Bell was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2018. Dylan, a 1st year Education student (5th year eligibility) from Brockville, Ont. led the X-Men defense in tackling in their close loss to SMU on Saturday. He had 7 tackles in the game, including 6 solo tackles, and also had a pair of big interceptions which he returned for a total of 28 yards. Dylan is currently 6th in AUS tackling with 29 on the season, averaging 5.8 per game. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men receiver/returner Kaion Julien-Grant was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2018. Kaion, a 4th year Human Kinetics student from Toronto, ON played a strong game on special teams with some big returns. He had one kick-off return for 42 yards and 4 punt returns for 102 yards, averaging 25.5 yards/return. In addition on offense Kaion had 4 catches for 17 yards and 2 rushes for 12 yards. He currently leads the AUS conference in total all-purpose yards with 880.
