Tailback Ashton Dickson of the StFX X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Nov. 15, 2015.

A fourth-year arts student in his fifth year of eligibility from Ottawa, Ont., Dickson rushed for 27 carries for 154 yards in StFX's 14-12 victory over the host Mount Allison Mounties in the 2015 Subway AUS Loney Bowl this past Saturday.

He also had three receptions for 44 yards and two kickoff returns for 30 yards, tallying 228 all-purpose yards for the day.

At Friday evening's AUS football awards banquet in Sackville, N.B., Dickson was honoured as the 2015 AUS outstanding player of the year. He was also named to the 2015 AUS all-star team.

The X-Men have now earned hosting rights to the 2015 CIS Uteck Bowl which will be played this Saturday in Antigonish, N.S. They will host the Canada West Hardy Cup champion UBC Thunderbirds.

Defensive lineman Kay Okafor of the St. Francis Xavier X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport football defensive player of the week.

A third-year business student from Enugu, Nigeria, Okafor had six solo tackles in StFX's 14-12 championship win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday.

These included four tackles for a total loss of 11 yards.

Academic program: BBA
Height and weight: 5'10", 155lbs

Kicker Jonathan Heidebrecht of the St. Francis Xavier X-Men is the Atlantic University Sport football special teams player of the week for the week.

A first-year business student from Camrose, Alta., Heidebrecht scored the game-winning field goal Saturday to lift the X-Men to a 14-12 win over the Mount Allison Mounties and secure the Subway AUS Loney Bowl title.

He booted a 41 yarder with only 45 seconds left to play that bounced off the crossbar and through the posts in dramatic fashion.

Heidebrecht also scored a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter, adding to his eight total points on the day and had two kickoffs for 133 yards. He was named the Subway AUS Loney Bowl MVP for his efforts.

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men tailback Ashton Dickson was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 8, 2015. Ashton, a 4th year Arts student (5th year eligibility) from Ottawa, ON rushed for 27 carries for 154 yards in StFX's 14-12 victory over Mount A Saturday to win the AUS Loney Bowl championship. He also had three receptions for 44 yards and two kickoff returns for 30 yards, tallying 228 all-purpose yards for the day. Earlier in the week Ashton was honored as the AUS most valuable player for regular season play.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men defensive lineman Kay Okafor was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 15, 2015. Kay, a third year Business student from Nigeria played a strong game on defense in the X-Men's 14-12 win over MtA Saturday to win the AUS Loney Bowl. Kay had six tackles in the game, all solo tackles, and also had 4 tackles for a total loss of 11 yards. 

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men kicker Jonathan Heidebrecht was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 14, 2015. Jonathan, a 1st year Business student from Camrose, AB scored the game winning field goal Saturday to lift the X-Men to a 14-12 win over Mount Allison to win the AUS Loney Bowl title.
