Tabor, Fermin and Ford named X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week

X-Men wide receiver Donald Tabor was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12, 2014. Donald, a fourth year Business student (3rd year eligibility) from Dartmouth, NS, was the top receiver for the X-Men in their recent loss to Acadia Saturday in Wolfville. He had 7 receptions for 73 yards, averaging 10.4 yards per catch. Donald is currently sixth overall in AUS receiving, averaging 40.7 yards per game.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week

X-Men defensive back Nathaniel Fermin was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12, 2014. Nathaniel, a second year Arts student from Pickering, Ont., led all StFX defenders in tackles in their recent loss to Acadia. Nathaniel had 7 solo and 1 assisted tackle in the game, including one tackle for a loss of 2 yards, along with 1 breakup. He is currently sixth overall in the AUS conference in total tackles with 29.

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week

X-Men kicker/punter Jeremy Forde was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12, 2014. Jeremy, a fourth year Science student from Halifax, NS delivered 8 punts in the X-Men's recent loss to Acadia. His eight punts covered 263 total yards, averaging 32.9 yards/kick, including one punt inside the 20. Jeremy also had two kickoffs for 97 yards. His punting average on the AUS season is 28.2 yards/punt.
