Subway STFX Female Athlete of the Week

X-Women Cross Country runner Mairin Canning was named the STFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12, 2023. Mairin, a third year Human Kinetics student from Antigonish, NS placed sixth overall at the U SPORTS championship race Sunday, clocking in the 8km race with a time of 29.28 in helping lead the X-Women to a team bronze medal finish. Mairin earned first team all-Canadian status in the field of 147 runners and 19 teams. It marked only the second time in X-Women history they medaled at the national championship event.
