X-Women Hockey forward Maggy Burbidge was named the STFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 13, 2022. Maggy, a 2nd year Arts student from Falmouth, NS was the player of the game with three points in the X-Women’s 4-2 semifinal series clincher over SMU Saturday night. Maggy assisted on the first X goal then scored the game winning goal late in the second and added an insurance marker in the third. The win sealed a 2-0 series win to advance the X-Women to the final round. Named an AUS first team all-star this week, Maggy also played strong games in STFX’s 3-2 overtime win in Halifax Friday and their 6-1 quarterfinal win over Moncton Wednesday. She was second overall in AUS scoring this season with 24 points (12G, 12A).
