X-Men hockey goaltender Drew Owsley was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28, 2016. Drew, a fourth year Business student from Lethbridge, AB helped backstop the X-Men to two AUS playoff wins to take a 2-0 lead in their best 3-of-5 semifinal series over SMU. In two playoff games, he has allowed only one goal against, making 72 total saves. In Thursday’s 2-0 shutout victory, Drew was named the player of the game and made 30 saves, then followed up with a 42 save performance in Saturday’s 5-1 win. Drew is currently leading all AUS goalies in the playoffs with a .986 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average.
