X-Women track & field sprinter Bridget Brennan was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 24, 2016. Bridget, a first year Education student (5th year eligibility) from Beechwood, NB set a new school record in the long jump Friday night at the Halifax meet by improving her distance by 36cm, going from 5.40m to 5.76m. This currently ranks her 5th in the CIS in the long jump event. Bridget also ran with the 4x400m relay team on Friday, placing second overall with a time of 3:56.29 and was fifth in the high jump with a 1.55m showing.
