X-Women track & field sprinter/jumper Hayley Wilson was
named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week co-winner for the week
ending Mar. 1, 2015. Hayley, a first year Science student from Skye
Glen, NS was honored as the AUS rookie of the year after her
three-medal performance at the AUS track & field championship
this past weekend in Moncton. She won a gold medal in the 60m dash
and won silver in both the long jump and triple jump. Hayley
clocked a personal best time of 7.74s in the 60m dash. She jumped
5.41m in the long jump and had an 11.38m showing in the triple
jump. Hayley has qualified to compete at the upcoming CIS national
championship in Windsor.
X-Women track & field sprinter Eilish MacQuarrie was named the
StFX Female Athlete of the Week co-winner for the week ending Mar.
1, 2015. Eilish, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from
Antigonish, NS racked up five medals at the AUS track & field
championship this past weekend in Moncton. She won an individual
silver medal in the 300m race (41.35), along with bronze medals in
both the 60m dash (7.96) and 600m event (1:40.19). Eilish anchored
the X-Women 4x400m relay team to a gold medal performance for the
second consecutive year, and won silver with the 4x200m relay team.
She has qualified to compete at the upcoming CIS national
championship in Windsor.
