“Everything in moderation, except for 400s” – Bernie Chisholm 

This July, we will pay homage to coach Bernie Chisholm as he closes his 32-year head-coaching career at StFX! To honour his decades of dedication, we have organized a weekend to bring together Bernie’s former athletes, supporters, friends and families.

The celebration will take place Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, which is the weekend of the Antigonish Highland Games. We hope to see you in July!

Weekend Package $60 per person Register Here

Includes: Admission to the social at the Golden X Inn, Banquet Ticket, and Highland Games Ceilidh.

Weekend Package pickup will take place near the Highland Games Road Race registration pick up and they will also be available at the Inn following the race.

*All Highland Games activities, other than the Ceilidh, are self-directed and paid for. Highland Games 5 Mile Road Race ($35) and Elite Mile (Free) are not included in the weekend package.

Brunch Tickets Only
If you would like to only attend brunch, or register for the weekend but bring your family along to brunch additional tickets can be purchased on the registration website at www.alumni.stfx.ca/coachbernie at the cost of $10 for children (12 and under) or $20 general.

Accommodations

Accommodations fill up very quickly over Highland Games weekend. If you plan on attending please book early! Below are some accommodation options:

StFX- O’Regan Hall - Block of 30 single suites ($95 + HST) and 6 double ($155 + HST) for both Friday and Saturday have been reserved. These rooms are available on a first come first serve bases. Child Care

If you are in need of child care through the weekend contact Gina MacInnis, ginamacinnis@gmail.com, and she will put you in contact with a qualified local High School student. If these services are needed please make arrangement early.

Highland Games

The Antigonish Highland Games also takes place July 6-8th weekend and the 155th edition will be worth a visit. The schedule is packed with competitions featuring athletes, pipers, drummers, and highland dancers from across the country and around the world. There are activities for all ages from the youth athletic and cultural day to the adult outdoor concerts.

Highland Games Five Mile Road Race is a flat, out and back course; starting and ending at Columbus Field, with the majority of the running along the Antigonish Landing gravel trail. Come out and run with old friends and teammates. Pre-registration is $35, which includes; race bib, dry fit t-shirt and beer ticket. We will be taking a group photo with Bernie following the race. Highland Games Elite Mile Road Race will precede the annual highland games parade Saturday morning July 7th, 2018 at 8:50am. The race route begins at St FX University and travels down West Street turning onto Main Street and finishing at the entrance to Columbus Field. Spectators are encouraged to come to the course early and cheer on the runners in what promises to be a very fast event. The event will be by invitation only for the top distance runners from across Atlantic Canada.
