FREDERICTON, NB - Michelle Reddy (Sarnia, ON), of the Dalhousie Tigers, was first across the line in today's Atlantic University Sport women's cross country season-opener.

Reddy won the UNB-STU Invitational in a time of 23:40. Universite de Moncton's Carol-Ann MacDonald ran second, in 23:49, and Acadia's Katie Robinson was third.

"I kept it comfortable for about the first 5K, then just brought it in from there," said race winner Reddy. "It was the first run of the season, we keep it pretty relaxed, so it was nice to get out there and treat it as a workout."

The StFX X-Women took first place in the team event with 39 points, over Acadia (53) and Dalhousie (57).
