X-Men run to first place finish at Moncton Invitational

Moncton, N.B. - The AUS defending champion X-Men ran to a first place showing at the Moncton Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

With 24 points on the afternoon, the X-Men bettered second place Dalhousie (38) and third place Universite de Moncton (73). UNB with 104 points and UPEI with 133 rounded out the team standings.

Veteran fifth year runner Scott Donald ran to his second consecutive first place finish of the 2016 season with a time of 26:08.30 in the 10k race. His StFX teammates Alex Cyr (26:10.10) and Alex Neuffer (26:16.70) were second and third, while Nick Favero at 27:05.30 was fifth.

Edward MacDonald placed 13th overall for the blue and white with a time of 28:32.50, followed by Warren Ferguson (28:59.00) in 17th, Ryan Fuller (29:09.20) and Matt Eliot (29:10.60) in 19th and 20th, Derhak Addison (29:51.60) in 22nd and Cullen MacInnis (30:26.50) in 29th.

A total of 52 competitors finished the race.

Next on the schedule for the X-Men is the SMU/DAL Invitational on Saturday, October 8th at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, N.S.
