X-Women second at Moncton Invitational

Moncton, N.B. – The StFX X-Women ran to a second place showing at the Moncton Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Liz MacDonald (23:52.40) was the top X-Women finisher in the 6k race, coming in fifth place overall, while teammate Mary MacDonald (24:00.40) was close behind her in sixth position.

Dalhousie runners Colleen Wilson (22:43.70), Laura Dickinson (22:56.30) and Sarah Myatt (23:30.60) were the top three finishers as the Tigers won top spot with 20 points.

The X-Women earned 40 points on the afternoon and Acadia came third with 92. Rounding out the team placings were UNB (129), Moncton (131) and Saint Mary's (144).

Paige Chisholm (24:41.70) and Zoe Johnston (24:45.40) placed 11th and 12th for the X-Women, while Olivia MacDonald (24:55.40) was 15th, Heidi MacDonald (25:02.90) and Rachel MacDougall (25:06.90) were 17th and 18th and Hana Marmura (25:18.80) was 20th.

Rounding out the StFX placements amongst the field of 76 competitors was Catherine Thompson (23rd, 25:36.30), Ashley Robson (24th, 25:44.90), Ellen Burnett (28th, 25:50.50) and Emily MacKay (32nd, 26:20.50).

Next on the circuit for the X-Women is the SMU/DAL Invitational on Saturday, October 8th at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, N.S.
