Getting to Know...Stuart MacPherson

X-Men cross country runner Stuart MacPherson is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Stuart recently completed his third year (second year eligibility) with the X-Men and is a Human Kinetics student from Pembroke, Ont.

Nickname:  Stu, Stu-Babe, Stu-Ped, Stewie, Little Stuart, Stuart Little, any sort of rendition of Stu, etc. 

My favorite moment to date as a StFX student-athlete is…?  
Breaking 9 minutes in the 3k for the first time.  It was kinda neat and I bought myself an ice cream after as a little treat :) 

If I could be Prime Minister for one day I would…? 
Remember those cool wheelie shoes that were popular in like 2006? Yeah I'd buy a pair of those and just roll down the halls all day. 

My favorite Disney movie or character is…?
Sid from Toy Story, because he indirectly teaches kids not to torture their toys in case they're alive. 

My biggest pet peeve is…?
Bruno Mars.....buddy you aren't the King of Pop (Michael Jackson) so stop pretending to be him. 

My dream job is…?
Anything that involves getting people back to what they love doing.  (ie Physiotherapist, Doctor, Chiropractor, Occupational Therapist)

One thing I love about StFX is…? 
It's just a neat little spot, ya know?

Tell us something interesting about your hometown? 
According to the City of Pembroke Tourist Brochure, the #5 ranked tourist attraction is a canoe upside-down, skewered on a pole, which is kinda cool.  I don't know what attractions 1-4 are though. 

FAVORITES:

1. Color:  Blue, it rhymes with Stu. 

2. School subject:  Exercise Physiology, I'm a big physiology nerd. 

3. Food:  Pad Thai is the beez kneez

3. Summer activity:  Running hands down. 

4. Social Media:  msn

5. TV show:  I got a lot of em....  Law And Order SVU, Game of Thrones, True Detective, Vikings, The Walking Dead, Hannibal, Trailer Park Boys, American Horror Story 6. Vacation spot:  Anywhere where the air doesn't hurt your face in the winter.

7. Singer/Band:  Red Hot Chili Pepers, Fleetwood Mac, Barenaked Ladies, and John Mayer because I'm sensitive. 

8. Item of clothing:  My wool sweater that has polar bears on it.
