Wesselius breaks NB course record in 5km road race

X-Men cross country runner Lee Wesselius set a new course record at the 9th annual Rave Run 5km race held June 1st at River Valley Middle School in Grand Bay, N.B.

His time of 15:21 broke the previous course record of 15:28 set in 2012 by Matt McNeil, who placed second in this year's event at 15:37.

Wesselius was also crowned the male 5km provincial champion and was presented with a special provincial medal for his effort. The resident of River Glade, N.B. recently wrapped up his first season with both the X-Men cross country team where he was an AUS all-star in his freshman year, placing fifth overall in the 10km AUS championship race last fall. He was also the X-Men's co-rookie of the year award winner for 2012.
