Emma Steen of the STFX X-Women women's soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport women's athlete of the week for the week ending September 18, 2022.

Steen, a second-year human kinetics student from Stittsville, Ontario, scored three goals and had an assist in two weekend shutout victories for the X-Women, who improved to 3-1-0 on the season.

Steen scored a goal and had an assist in STFX's 5-0 win over Mount Allison on Saturday and followed up with a two goal performance on Sunday in another 5-0 victory, this time over UPEI. Her defensive efforts were also key in both shutout wins.  The X-Women now sit tied for second in the AUS standings.

Sean Freeman of the Saint Mary's men's soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending September 18, 2022.

A second-year wing forward from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Freeman scored four goals and added an assist in a pair of Saint Mary's road-wins last weekend. On Saturday, Freeman scored three goals, including the game-winner, and recorded seven shots in the Huskies' 3-2 win over the UPEI Panthers. He was named Subway player of the game for his efforts.

On Sunday, Freeman scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the Huskies 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties. Through four games played, Freeman leads the AUS in goals (5), points (6), shots on goal (8), penalty kick goals (2) and game-winning goals (3).
