Capers shutout X-Women 3-0

Sydney, NS – The Cape Breton Capers defeated the StFX X-Women 3-0 over on senior night Friday evening, improving their record to 8-1-1 on the season.

The Capers are currently three points back of first place Acadia while the X-Women (4-2-4) fine themselves in a three-way tie for third place with Dalhousie and Saint Mary's and are nine points back from the Capers.  

Capers senior Ciera Disipio (Ottawa, ON) scored a pair of goals on the night to give the home team a 2-0 lead at halftime. Freshman Erin Freeman (Halifax, NS) scored in the 69th minute for the lone goal in the second half.

Keeper Rachel Yerxa (Mississauga, ON) was strong in net for the shutout victory for Cape Breton. X-Women keeper Emma Kuzmyk took the loss for the visitors.

Up next the Capers will travel to Sackville, N.B. to play Mount Allison on Sunday afternoon. The X-Women will finish their season on the road with games in St. John's, Nfld. on the 26thand 27th
