Soccer X-Women shutout Moncton 1-0

MONCTON, NB – The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues were shutout 1-0 by the StFX X-Women in Atlantic University Sport soccer action, Saturday at Stade Moncton Stadium.

In a very tightly fought game, StFX forward Kelsey Ellis (unassisted) had the lone goal in the 10th minute of play. The marker held up for the X-Women who improve to 3-0 on the season.

Erin Visser registered the shut-out victory in the StFX net while Dominique LeBlanc was tagged with the loss for the home team.

Catherine Dupuis had three of Moncton's five shots on goal, as did Mercy Miles, of the X-Women with 3 of 10. StFX defender Amy Rowe earned Subway player of the game for her strong play in the backfield.

Next on the AUS schedule sees Moncton hosting the Cape Breton University Capers, Sunday at 1:00 pm. The X-Women will travel to Fredericton to meet the UNB Varsity Reds, also Sunday at 1:00 pm.
