Sackville, NB - The StFX X-Women (4-0-1) remain unbeaten in AUS soccer regular season play after a 1-0 victory over the host Mount Allison Mounties (2-3-1) Sunday afternoon.

The win puts the X-Women in a first place tie atop the AUS conference with the Cape Breton Capers (4-1-1), as each team has 13 points.

Freshman forward Kelsey Ellis (Ottawa, ON) scored the lone goal of the match in the 46th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Visser (Whitby, ON) made five saves for the shutout, including two shots off the foot of Mountie senior Amanda Volcko (Halifax, NS). It was the second of back-to-back shutouts for Visser, who did not allow a goal by the Cape Breton Capers Friday evening at Oland Stadium in a 1-0 X-Women win. StFX has only allowed four goals in five matches to start the season.

Junior goalkeeper Tessa Ritchie (Ottawa, ON) made two saves for the Mounties in the loss.

Besides Ellis, junior forward Logan Lee-Knight (Calgary, AB) and fifth-year defender Gabrielle Bergh (Calgary, AB) collected shots on goal for the X-Women.

The X-Women will return to the pitch Saturday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Halifax to face the rival Saint Mary's Huskies, in a 1 p.m. start.

The blue and white will be back on home turf Sunday, Oct. 4, when the Acadia Axewomen visit Oland Stadium.

The StFX Homecoming 2015 match-up will kick-off at 1 p.m.
