Ottawa, ON – The U SPORTS No. 2 X-Women rugby team dropped a pair of exhibition games to the No. 5 ranked Queen's Gaels in doubleheader action Saturday afternoon at the University of Ottawa.
In the first game featuring the second string squads, the Gaels came out on top 30-0. They built up a 25-0 lead in the opening half and StFX were unable to score.
In the second game the Gaels and X-Women played a close game that went down to the wire, with Queen's coming out on top 28-22.
They lead 14-10 at halftime and took the win with a score in the final minutes of play.
For the X-Women, scoring came from Danielle Cormier, Joanna Alphonso, Anna Horner and Sophie Parker with one conversion from Danielle Franada.
StFX will return to AUS regular season play when they travel to Acadia on Sunday, October 14th for a 2:00 pm.
